Big ass bogger burnt to a crisp

This had to be an awful day for this fella. This bogger was one of the biggest that I have seen in Whetstone. I think either his fuel line or transmission line ruptured. As you can see it didn't take long for it burn. He lost the entire bogger. The first video is not mine and there is strong language on it . The second is mine . I have my nephew standing by the bogger. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall. That should give you an idea of how big it is. I walked around it completely to give you a good view of the damage. This is an example of how fast things can go bad. I'm glad nobody was hurt,but this should convince everyone to put fire extinguishers in their boggers. Not sure anything would have put this one out, but better to be safe then sorry.
I guess this would be a good time to say have FUN and be SAFE!!!

Diesels tag teaming the Circle Hole

This is Zack and Tyson trying to Whip up on the Circle Hole. These trucks are still alittle strange to me, with that weird engine sound and black smoke. I'm used to the smoke from a trickle of oil going around the piston rings that cause you to get new plugs every outing. I've had a bunch of those! If you get the chance to see these boggers in person, I promise you will like them,they are pretty cool to watch. It's wild to watch the smoke travel sixty to seventy feet into the air. An as far as I have seen, they haven't had any problems with them. Cool ass boggers and one hell of a try fellas.

Labor Day Weekend 2010

Here we go! I finally got youtube to upload a video!!! Here's one of the videos for Labor Day. It seems there were more larger boggers there this weekend then there was on Memorial Day Weekend.Which made for alot more footage, so there is going to be another video maybe two. It was a pretty good weekend watching all the boggers try to out do the other. Including a truck fire. The PA boys were there and put on another great show. Thank you guys for that.The weather was nice and holes were full. So got some pretty good shots of mud and water towering over the boggers as they cranked out some serious rpm's. This video is alittle seven minutes long packed with a bunch of mud slinging. The Jeep in this one has the tires hanging out past the fenders which makes for a good show. i got a good picture of how a braking system works on the military axles for everyone , but I think that I may have jinxed the poor fella. As soon as he dropped in the hole the rear differential quit working. Sorry about that bud. I have a video of the truck that burnt after the fact. I did put in a request for the video of it burning. All in all it was a good weekend.

4th Of July In Whetstone ,West Virginia

Ok, here is the footage from 4th Of July. I'm sorry it took so long. My computer is giving me problems with downloading videos. Anyway, now I'm working on the one for Labor Day. All the footage taken for the 4th, was done by my sister-in-law. It was her first time doing this and I think she did ok. The turnout wasn't nearly as big as it was for the 4th but there was still alot of people and boggers there. I hope to have the next video on in the next two days. It will be pretty good ( I'm hoping). Ok hope to see a few people on the weekends, because the summer isn't over yet.

This video is from the 90's. It contains pictures of good friends, their family and most importantly, their mud boggers. I know I promised this to everyone awhile back , and yes I finally finished it. Just in time to get ready for Labor Day Weekend. And yes I remember that I still owe you all the video for 4th Of July. Whetstone 4TH of July 2010 Kaity and Bubba

Here is Kaity and Bubba doing their best to show what a good ole country girl can do.This was of the 4th of July weekend at the Circle Hole in Whetstone. She was told to do her best no matter what the cost and by the looks of it she did. So with everyone watching she played in all the big holes "with smaller tires" with all the rest of the boys. And I think she did a preety good jobmyself! If you dont think so, maybe some of you weekend warriors should stop down and try to whip her and Bubba. Just remember her foot goes a little farther down then ours. She doesn't have to pay for it or work on it,Right "Dad" right "Daniel" Well ,I hope to see a big turn out for Labor Day Weekend.There's only one month left to get your boggers ready,so get to bolting.

I have some more footage of 4th of July and will be bringing it to you very soon . I also have a whole bunch of pictures to show you all. They were taken in the late 80"s through the 90's ,but it's taking a long time to pick and chose . Please be alittle patient with I'm kinda new at this. PA boys in Whetstone tearin it up!!!

These videos are of Jeff in his mud bogger and the PA boys in their diesel trucks.

The first video is of Jeff laying it all out in Whetstone.I think of all the video that I shot over MDW,that Jeff probly had the best show.He attacked the Circle Hole, like it had kicked his dog!
The next video is of the PA boys in their massive diesels.It always seems to be a little funny to me watching them diesels in the mud.When I was growing up in Whetstone you didn't see very many diesel trucks there.But, these guys can change your minds on running these engines.If you take the time to watch the video you will understand what I'm talking about.Once those things are cranked up you can see that these boys might be on to something.Very nice show fellas!!!
I would like to mention that ZACKSIX also has a channel on youtube under Sixpackmotorsports check it out.He has some fairground mud bogs on it.
Ok ,I hope to see everyone out there in a mud bogger on the 4th of July. Just remember it doesn't have to be a holiday weekend to enjoy a little mud!

Whetstone MDW 2010 Bubba Badass

This is a video of Bubba. My brother is driving the mud bogger, but it belongs to his daughter. Several people have contributed to building this truck.Most of the credit has to go to my brother and nephew who have basicly built this truck from the ground up. My brother bought the body from the PA boys.The rest was scrounged together from other mud boggers that didn't survive. It may not be the biggest truck in Whetstone ,but it is pretty reliable. As you can see it was once a blazer.I think it looks a whole lot better as a truck.His daughter seems to be pretty proud of it.She is the one who gave it the name Bubba Badass. Well Kate I think Bubba looks pretty good!

I have a few more videos to add of Memorial Day Weekend. I have some of the PA boys in their diesels,Earls truck pulling the front tires off the ground and Jeff doing his best to get his truck buried. But I'm having trouble with Blogger and Youtube,so please hang in there and I will do my best to get them posted for ya.

One Week Left

Ok, I hope everyone is ready,because you are now out of time.So get ready for a four day Whetstone blast of big tires,screaming engines and a whole lot of beer! I'm going to try to get as much film and photos as i can to share with everyone this weekend. I'm sure there will be no lack of mud boggers doing their best to impress. There is seven miles of mud for the boggers to play in,or just get buried. We'll have to see if a truck can make it through the Bog this year on its own without having to get drug through by another truck to open it up.That seems to be the case most years. Every year the trucks keep getting bigger but, the Bog keeps getting deeper, so we will have to wait and see. The Circle hole will be full of water this year I'm sure ,because of all the rain we had. So that means you little trucks better watch it. It only takes one mistake to ruin the weekend,cause oil doesn't mix well with water, just ask BP! Well I hope everyone has a good time and takes care of their mud boggers so they can run every weekend. Well thats it till next week.

Mud Boggers Of The Past

On my last blog I mentioned the old days. Well I have added some pictures in a page. These are the "mud boggers " we had back then. They were your typical old everyday work truck. You ran what you could,broke what you couldn't afford to get fixed and, yes, you got to listen to your cassette player! As you can see it was before all the ATVs. Everyone grabbed their coolers and jumped into a truck and off we went. Sometimes I think we had more fun that way. You would hit the holes and pray you didn't brake anything , because that was your ride home. The only bright spot was ,if it was Friday you had two days to work on your truck in the hollow until you had to go home. And believe me you would sit for a few days now and then,lol. But it was still a blast. A tank of gas was fifteen bucks, a case of bud was ten and the experience was priceless. Take a look at the pictures and if you have any you would like send me i would be glad to add them. I hope to have some old video to add real soon. I will have some new video in a week or so. Ok you all know the saying.

Mud Boggers Only

Has anyone noticed how many road trucks are hauling the mud boggers rather than hitting the mud themselves.Twenty years ago there was no such thing as a mud bogger, You just jumped in your truck bought some beer and hit the mud. If you had a set of thirty-sixes you had a monster truck. A pair of glass packs and that engine sounded great! Now the daily rider is gone and the mud bogger is here. 44 inch swampers,exhaust shooting out of the hood and some serious power coming from that engine,that runs on jet fuel. The good old days sound good ,but today sounds like a freight train and smells like a 747! For those of us who remember turning up Hank on the cassette player,leave your stereo at home and grab some earplugs and enjoy the show! trust me its a good one.

West Virginia Mud Bogging (High Water And Mud Boggers Don't Mix)

Well it's been about a week!

I hope a few of you mud boggers tried out your rides. Now that it has rained all weekend I thought that I'd take this chance to warn ut how fast water can rise. Here are a few photos taken about an hour apart. Remember when it starts to rain look for higher ground so you don't lose your mud bogger. Mud boggers are great in the mud but water can really cost you a few bucks. And if you're unlucky maybe even more,so please watch the creeks and know that it doesn't have to rain where you are at for the water to rise.

Now get them mud boggers going.

Is everyone ready for the big weekend!!!

Not to worry you have a few weeks left, but it is getting close.

Time to give the engines a tune-up,the radiators some coolant, and the brakes,

oh hold on who needs brakes! That's what all the trees are for.

No really time to get the fluid levels checked,the belts tightened,

tires aired up and a small cooler and go test out the mud boggers. That way

you can get all the kinks out before Memorial Day weekend.

And if you have anytime left over go ahead and check the brakes.
